Omar La Keith Johnson
Omar La Keith Johnson was 48 years old and had been held at the Birmingham jail since October 2022. On March 2, 2023, another man held there found him unresponsive in his cell, and Omar died at a hospital that afternoon. The Jefferson County Coroner said there was no sign of trauma or foul play, and an examination was still pending to determine what took his life.
