O'Hare
O'Hare was held at Pratt's Mines in Georgia in May 1891. An Atlanta dispatch printed in the Madison Daily Leader on May 28 said that O'Hare and another man, Harman, tried to escape and that guards shot and killed both of them. The dispatch said a third man, Ingram, got away, and it described the guards as vigilant. That description is the agency's account of its own staff, and no other source for the death has been found.
