Noah Pinley
Noah Pinley was held at the jail in Tazewell, Virginia, and on the morning of September 22, 1899, he was taken from it and hanged on a scaffold in the courthouse yard, according to the Clinch Valley News. The paper's account, reprinted in a 1934 column, says that at the scaffold he crossed his hands and repeated the creed with a local minister, Rev. Mr. Huffard.
