Nicole Rene Johansen ran a registered family day care in Bend for many years. She died on December 24, 2021, in the afternoon, in the prison infirmary at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Oregon, where she was receiving hospice care. The Oregon Department of Corrections announced her death on Friday and said it was natural. She was 48 years old.
