Executed
Nick Vianna
Nick Vianna was 19 years old when he was hanged on December 10, 1920, his nineteenth birthday, at a jail in Chicago. According to the account, he sang songs through the night in the jail corridors, and his mother visited him in the death cell the night before he died. He maintained that he was not responsible and said he knew who was, but would not name them because doing so would endanger his family. Reports say he faced the gallows calmly and sang 'Mother O' Mine' as the noose was placed.
