Nelson Chia
Nelson Chia, a 73-year-old man from Oakland, was the longtime partner of dentist Lili Xu. He died at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, in Alameda County, a few hours after he was booked there, and deputies found him in a single-occupant holding cell during a routine check. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office said it appears he died by suicide and that there were no signs of foul play. The death is under investigation by detectives, the coroner's bureau and the district attorney.
