Nathaniel Maher
Nathaniel Maher, of Atherton, California, died at the Saline County Jail in Missouri in May 2025. According to an autopsy reported by KJLU, the medical examiner attributed his death to natural causes, complications of meningitis and pneumonia. The autopsy report said he had skin lesions that likely allowed bacteria to enter his system. Officials said that form of meningitis was very unlikely to spread to others in the jail.
