Nathan Marcos, 33, was held at Folsom Prison in California when, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, two other prisoners attacked him in the recreation yard on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Prison staff used chemical agents to stop the attack, and officials said he was declared dead about half an hour later, after staff tried life-saving measures. Officials say two men are suspected in the killing and were moved to a segregation unit while the death is investigated.
