Nathan Kinney, 27, was a father of two who ran and played basketball, according to his family, and his cousin LaDawna Hill, who was raised alongside him from toddlerhood, said they love him. He collapsed inside the Cuyahoga County jail in March 2025 and was taken to a hospital, where he died. The sheriff's department said he was engaging in recreational activities when he collapsed. His family says he had no prior health problems, and his cousin said he had a heart attack in the jail gym after not receiving appropriate medical care, and that he had been held for three months without being seen by anyone. The family is demanding medical records and jail video, and the medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death.
