Nathan Hoang
Nathan Hoang was a Marine veteran who served two deployments to Iraq and received an honorable discharge. He was a married father of six, and his family says he lived with PTSD from combat. In March 2025, during an encounter with Hayward police and Falck paramedics in Hayward, California, officers used a Taser on him and restrained him, and paramedics sedated him with midazolam in an ambulance, after which he lost consciousness. The Alameda County coroner's bureau ruled the death an accident, attributing it to a heart attack linked to methamphetamine use, an enlarged heart and blunt force trauma. His family's federal lawsuit disputes the conduct of the officers and paramedics and the use of the sedative, and they want full footage of that day.
