Nashy
Nashy was held in the jail at Greenville, Tennessee, when, according to a Chicago Daily Tribune correspondent's first-person account published May 20, 1862, Confederate Col. Daniel Leadbeater took him and another man, Fry, from the jail. The correspondent says they were tied to a tree limb over the railroad track and hanged, and that passengers mocked the bodies as they hung. This is the only account cited, and it is written from a Union perspective.
