Myron Crosby
Myron Crosby, 58, was held at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, a federal prison, when he tested positive for COVID-19 in late December 2020. His attorney had argued in an earlier filing that his health conditions put him at greater risk from the virus and that staying in prison made infection more likely. In January 2021 he was taken to a local hospital after having trouble breathing, and he died there on January 22, 2021. The U.S. Bureau of Prisons said his death was caused by complications from COVID-19, and his attorney's account of his vulnerability to the virus has not been addressed by the agency.
Cause of death, as reported: Died of illness. The Bureau of Prisons attributed his death to complications from COVID-19, and his attorney had earlier argued his health conditions made him especially vulnerable to the virus.
Reported by: U.S. Bureau of Prisons (the agency that held him); his attorney.
