Myeisha Brown
Myeisha Brown, 21, was found dead in her cell at the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center, formerly the Tennessee Prison for Women, in Nashville, around March 19, 2022. Her sister described her as ambitious and happy, someone who would brighten up a room, and said they talked every day while she was incarcerated. Her family says she had raised concerns about problems inside the prison and should have been placed in a rehabilitation program rather than an adult women's facility. The Tennessee Department of Correction has not released a cause of death and says the death is under investigation.
