Musgrove
Dorman Musgrove was one of two men held in the Glencoe jail in Minnesota when a masked mob broke in during the night of September 5, 1896, according to the Herald-Advance, citing the jailer's account. The jailer was tied to a chair, the cell locks were broken, and Musgrove was taken out and hanged from a bridge over Buffalo Creek. Papers differ on the number of men, about thirty to one hundred, and on the date, which some give as September 5 and others as September 6 or 8. The sheriff and coroner took down the bodies, which were taken to the city hall, and residents were reported to have criticized the mob's action. An inquest was planned.
