Mosheer Rashid, 42, was held at the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe, Texas, and was taken to the jail infirmary on December 11, 2017. He was then admitted to Conroe Regional Medical Center for treatment of Influenza A and died there eight days later, on December 19, 2017. The article reports that he had other medical issues and that the flu may have played a role in his death. Investigations by the sheriff's office and the Texas Rangers were still ongoing when the article was published.
