Morgan Angerbauer
Morgan Angerbauer was a 20-year-old diabetic woman, and her parents still release balloons in her memory each year. She died on July 1, 2016, while held at the Bowie County jail in Texarkana, Texas, where her family says she had been placed in a medical observation cell. Her family's lawsuit says no checks were made for hours even though she was banging on her cell door, and that when she was found unresponsive, a nurse declined offers to call an ambulance. The family says a nurse and staff refused to treat her despite knowing about her diabetes and attributes her death to negligence, and the family settled with LaSalle Corrections in 2020.
