Monica Piette
Monica Piette, 32, was held at York Correctional Institution in Niantic, Connecticut, after arriving there on December 16, 2016. Corrections officers found her alone in her cell with a ligature around her neck during a check on the evening of December 21, and she was taken to a local hospital, where she died on December 22. The Department of Correction said the State Medical Examiner's Office would determine the manner and cause of her death, and that its security division and the Connecticut State Police are investigating.
