Mitchell Ryan Monroe
Mitchell Monroe, 45, died on August 25, 2024, while held at Elmore Correctional Facility in Alabama. The Alabama Department of Corrections said he was found unresponsive on his bed with a head injury and abrasions on both legs, and that a physician pronounced him dead. The department said the cause of death is pending an investigation by its Law Enforcement Services Division. His family says they have not received a death certificate, and that the autopsy has been withheld while the death remains under investigation.
