Mike Murrell
Mike Murrell was one of two brothers held in the jail at Atlanta, Georgia. The Bolivar Bulletin reported that several hundred armed citizens went to the jail, took both brothers out and carried them to the parade grounds, where a jury was impaneled. After a three-hour inquiry, his brother was returned to the jail, but Mike was shot to death. The account describes the killing as carried out by the mob after this mock hearing.
