Miguel Gonzalez-Rasalas
Miguel Gonzalez-Rasalas, 38, died on August 6, 2025, while held at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center-Central in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office said staff found him unconscious around 12:06 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at 12:44 p.m. The sheriff's office did not release his name at first, pending notification of his next of kin, and he was publicly named on September 15. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating, and the medical examiner had not yet determined the cause of death.
