Michael Stewart
Michael Stewart was 25 years old when he died on January 14, 2015, while in the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. According to KCBD, he was being transported on a prison bus that went off Interstate 20 near Penwell and collided with a moving train. The National Transportation Safety Board found that the bus lost control after striking a damaged guardrail, and the crash killed ten people on the bus. The Texas Office of the Attorney General's custodial death report lists his death on that date in state prison custody.
