Michael Sobrero
Michael Sobrero, 58, of Magalia, died on July 9, 2023, after being found unconscious in his cell at the Butte County Jail in Oroville, California. Staff gave emergency medical treatment and took him to Oroville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Butte County Sheriff's Office said deputies found evidence he used a bed sheet to take his own life. The district attorney's office is investigating, and an autopsy is expected to determine the official cause of death.
