Michael Smith
Michael Smith, 34, died on November 9, 2022, at the Grand Traverse County Jail in Michigan. The sheriff's office said the death was an apparent suicide. Michigan State Police investigated, and an autopsy was performed. One report says he had received a mental health screening and was alone in his cell at the time. The death led county commissioners to change the jail's health care provider.
