Michael Raymond Kennedy
Michael Raymond Kennedy, 41, was held at the Shawnee County Adult Detention Center in Topeka. On February 12, 2024, he was injured during a fight between people held at the jail, and he was taken to Stormont-Vail Medical Center, where he was placed in a medically induced coma. He was taken off life support and died on February 16, 2024. The Shawnee County Department of Corrections says his death resulted from injuries sustained in the altercation, and the death is under investigation by the Department of Corrections, the Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
