Michael R. Challoner
Michael R. Challoner, 36, was held at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City, California, when he died on April 21, 2024. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, he was involved in a physical altercation with another incarcerated person in the dayroom, and staff found he had multiple stab or puncture wounds. He was taken to an outside hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead. CDCR is investigating the death as a homicide, and the Del Norte County Coroner will determine the official cause of death.
