Died in jail or a lockup
Michael O'Brien
Michael O'Brien, 44, of Watervliet, died in his cell at the Albany County jail on the evening of July 29, 2015. Sheriff Craig Apple said he was found hanging during a lockdown cell check and that the death apparently was a suicide. He was pronounced dead minutes later. The state Commission on Correction said it would investigate the death.
