Michael Myers, 51, of Bennington, died on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, Vermont. He had told people he was feeling unwell for several days, and a staff member found him unresponsive in his cell during a check that morning. Emergency medical services could not save him. Vermont State Police said the death did not appear suspicious and may have resulted from a medical event, and the Chief Medical Examiner's Office is to perform an autopsy to confirm the cause.
