Michael McMordie
Michael McMordie, 33, of Cortez, died in his cell at the Montezuma County Detention Center in Colorado early on May 22, 2019. According to Sheriff Steve Nowlin, jailers found him not breathing at a 1:30 a.m. check, and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. The sheriff said the death is under investigation, and the coroner's office would perform an autopsy. The cause and manner of death had not been determined at the time of the report.
