Michael Martin Clark
Michael Martin Clark, 53, of West Des Moines, was held at the Polk County Jail, where he was attacked in the intake area by another person held there, who head-butted him to the ground. Later that day he began having apparent seizures, was taken to hospital, and died there on July 1, 2023. The autopsy found blunt force injuries to the head and ruled the death a homicide. The Polk County Sheriff's Office and Polk County Attorney have been involved in the investigation of the death.
