Died in jail or a lockup
Michael Lyle Martin
Michael Lyle Martin, 60, of Point Pleasant, died on August 2, 2020, at Western Regional Jail in Cabell County. Lawrence Messina, communications director of the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security, said Martin died after a medical episode and that officials saw no sign of foul play. The state Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation said it would conduct an internal review, and the State Police are investigating the death.
