Michael Kyzer
Michael Kyzer, 65, of Deer Park, died on August 17, 2026, while held at the Cherokee County Jail in Texas. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said he died of self-inflicted injuries, and that he was found unresponsive in a holding cell around 2:19 a.m., about an hour after arriving at the jail. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An inquest and autopsy have been ordered, and the Texas Rangers are investigating the death.
