Michael Hudson
Michael Hudson, 30, was from Kansas City, and his family remembers him as someone who loved to explore and learn, a protector who did not like seeing anyone bullied, and who was close to his grandfather. He earned his GED in prison in 2015 and was studying to become a paralegal. He died on December 15, 2023, at the South Central Correctional Center in Licking, Missouri, while in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections. The Texas County Coroner said he was fatally stabbed in the throat, and his mother, LaShon Hudson, says he was stabbed to death in a fight in the recreation room and that she has been denied access to surveillance video. The corrections department says the death is under investigation.
