Michael Gunther, 67, died on May 18, 2023, at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, a state prison facility, where he had been receiving treatment for a medical condition. His cause of death had not been determined when WOWT reported on it the following day. Under Nebraska law, a grand jury will investigate the death.
