Died in jail or a lockup
Michael Gafa
Michael Gafa, 57, died at the DeKalb County Jail in Georgia in February 2026, where he had been held since September 2025. Staff found him unresponsive in his cell on a Sunday, and medics pronounced him dead. Sheriff Melody Maddox's office said there is no sign of foul play, and the cause and manner of death remain under investigation with no findings announced at the time of reporting.
