Michael Duayne Wallace
Michael Duayne Wallace, 20, worked at a work furlough center on Middlefield Road in Mountain View as a crew chief, helping other residents check in and out on the time clock, and he was due to be released the following month. On April 27, 2000, he was standing in a hallway at the center when a shooter fired through a foyer window and struck him in the chest. He died at Stanford Medical Center. Mountain View police Sgt. Sonny Talamantes said investigators had no motive and did not know whether Michael or someone else inside was the target.
