Michael Daniel Mangan
Michael Daniel Mangan, 51, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte, North Carolina, on July 12, 2020, and was pronounced dead. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office said he did not appear to have any coronavirus symptoms and that he was housed in a pod separate from the general population. Sheriff Garry McFadden said, "We are devastated by the loss of Mr. Mangan." The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death, and the cause and manner have not been determined.
