Michael D. Powell
Michael D. Powell, 40, of Chanute, Kansas, died on February 28, 2024, while held at the Neosho County Jail. The Neosho County Sheriff's Office said he was found unresponsive in his cell in the early morning hours, and that EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation responded and an autopsy was ordered, and the cause and manner of death were still pending at the time of the report.
