Michael Cornell

Michael Cornell, 34, of Newport, died on January 1, 2022, after he was found in his cell at Northern State Correctional Facility, where he was held. EMS took him to North Country Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Vermont Department of Corrections said the death is not considered suspicious. The Vermont State Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
