Michael Brandon Samra, 41, was executed by lethal injection at the state prison in Atmore, Alabama, on May 16, 2019, and prison authorities said he was pronounced dead at 7:33 p.m. He did not file last-minute appeals, and in his final statement he spoke of his faith and thanked Jesus. He spoke by phone with his father the day before, and his family did not attend. According to the Alabama Daily News, his lawyers raised no complaints about the process after the execution.
