Michael Beuke
Ohio executed Michael Beuke, 48, by lethal injection at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville on May 13, 2010, after about a quarter century on death row. During those years he spoke of a spiritual conversion, and as his execution neared he was emotional and cried often in his cell, according to an Ohio prisons spokeswoman. The execution came about 90 minutes after the Ohio Supreme Court rejected his final appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court had turned down his appeals the night before. Family members of people connected to his case witnessed the execution.
