Michael A. Revels

57 years old · died November 25, 2015 · Schenectady County Correctional Facility, Schenectady County, New York

Michael A. Revels, 57, had undergone surgery for kidney cancer and needed diuretic medication, according to his attorney, E. Robert Keach. He was held at the Schenectady County Jail in November 2015, and Keach says jail medical staff did not give him the medication or send him to a hospital in time, and that fluid buildup then led to cardiac arrest. After a hospital declared him brain dead, the county released him from custody, and he died on November 25, 2015. Keach says his wife was left with his remaining medical bills.

Cause of death, as reported: Died from neglect by staff (disputed). Attorney E. Robert Keach contends Schenectady County Jail medical staff withheld his diuretic medication and did not send him to a hospital in time, causing fluid buildup and cardiac arrest.

Reported by: Attorney E. Robert Keach (family or their lawyers).
