Died in jail or a lockup
Micah Aaron Garner
Micah Aaron Garner, 30, of Longview, died while held at the Gregg County Jail in June 2011, according to the sheriff's office and a Texas Attorney General custodial death report dated June 6. The sheriff's office said he told officials he was addicted to methadone and heroin and was housed in a medical cell on a 30-minute watch. When guards checked on him at 7:30 p.m., he was unresponsive in his cell. The sheriff's office said the death remains under investigation, and no cause or manner has been established.
