Mercury M. Davis, 24, was held at the Jackson County Detention Center in Missouri, where they were found unresponsive during a medical emergency on the evening of Friday, April 21, 2023. Emergency crews took them to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department opened an investigation, and Sheriff Darryl Forté said there were no obvious signs of foul play at that stage. The cause and manner of death have not been stated by the sheriff's office.
