Melissa Musson, 47, died in her cell at the Cuyahoga County Jail on the morning of November 1, 2022, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, which identified her. The medical examiner has not yet determined her cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing. State inspectors said officers took more than the one-hour state minimum to check on her, and that the jail was not screening people for opiate withdrawal on the day she died.
