Melissa D. Miles
Melissa D. Miles, 41, of Robertsville, died at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, Illinois, on September 17, 2023. Earlier that day she fell from a top bunk and was taken to a hospital, then returned to the jail after being cleared. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said she was found alone and unresponsive in her cell and pronounced dead shortly afterward, and that the initial medical examiner report showed no signs of assault.
