Melissa Burgeson
Melissa Burgeson, 47, was a quiet woman who shared Bible verses, and her obituary called her a 'great woman of God' and a 'bright light in a dark place.' She grew up in a Christian home in Tennessee. A fellow prisoner who was present when Melissa read a letter from her family described her reaction with compassion. Melissa died on April 6, 2018, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, after being held at Arrendale State Prison in Gainesville, Georgia.
