Melford Henson, 65, died of coronavirus on May 6, 2020, while held at the California Institution for Men in Chino. Sources describe him as a construction worker who became a foreman on projects building low-power Christian television stations, and his wife, Tracy Henson, was reportedly waiting for him at home in Portola to finish his sentence on home detention. His health had reportedly been poor for years. A state corrections department announcement in June 2020 described a man at the same prison who died of complications related to COVID-19, and the department said it would not release his identity, so it is not confirmed from these sources that this is the same death.
