McGeehen was hanged in the yard of the Schuylkill County prison in Pennsylvania, one of two condemned men executed there. Clergy attended the condemned men in their final hours. The Helena Weekly Herald reported that the execution took place at 11 o'clock. No objections to the execution are reported.
