Max Knoten
Max Knoten, 46, died on February 15, 2024, in his cell at Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville, South Carolina. The South Carolina Department of Corrections said he was found unresponsive and did not share the cell with anyone, and it is investigating the death as a suspected suicide. The department said the manner and cause have not been determined and an autopsy was scheduled. The Lee County Coroner and the SCDC Inspector General's Office are also investigating.
