Maurice Brown
Maurice Brown died on September 3, 2026, at Wilcox State Prison in Georgia, where he was held. According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, a fight involving several people broke out in one dorm, he was pronounced dead at the scene, and nine others were injured, two of them seriously. The GDC said the fight is believed to have been gang-related, but that claim has not been independently confirmed, and the official cause of death is pending at the GBI Crime Lab. The GDC's Office of Professional Standards is reviewing the death, and his body has been sent to the county coroner.
